Description: John Reck (1865-ca. 1951) was an American banker, merchant and politician. Born in Elkader, Iowa and raised mostly in that state, Reck was long associated with the early history of Juneau, Alaska. He served a brief tenure as mayor of Juneau in the 1910s. In Juneau, he was mostly known for his leadership role in the First National Bank of Juneau, a historical component of the present-day First National Bank Alaska.
