Description: The south side of the Dr. Jonathan Pitney House (57 North Shore Rd., Absecon, Atlantic County, New Jersey) seen from Shore Rd. According to the Atlantic County Historical Society (Vol. 15, #3 of their "Historical and Genealogical Journal"), the oldest part of the house, the two-story part on the southwest corner (on the left in this picture), was built around 1799, and most of the current structure was added in 1848 by Dr. Jonathan Pitney, one of the main organizers and promoters of the resort of Atlantic City; it is currently used as a bed-and-breakfast. It is #98001062 on the National Register of Historic Places.
