Description: Judy worked on the Atlas / Able satellite program in the late 1950's. So did her then-husband, Bernard Siegel. Life Magazine was intrigued by the idea of a husband-wife engineering team, and sent a journalist and a photographer to California to do an article that would appear right after the launch of the satellite. The rocket exploded on the launch pad (video is available on the web), and so the story was never published. But the photos survive, of which this is one.
