Description: Khao niao (sticky or glutinous rice) is eaten using the right hand. Forming it in to a flattened shape makes it easier to scoop up dishes such as the nam phrik num (roasted green chilli paste) on the photo. The other dishes on this photo are sai ua (Chiang Mai sausage), blanched krachiap khiao (okra), blanched dok khae (Sesbania flowers) and blanched chaom (leaves of a type of acacia tree).
