Description: Kong Haakon VII (tidligere Danske prins Carl) ankommer Norge med Kronprins Olav (tidligere prins Alexander) på armen 1905. Bildet er tatt straks etter at kongen og hans følge har forlatt det danske kongeskipet Danneborg i no:Drøbaksundet og gått over i K/S Heimdal, et kommandofartøy som seinere ble norsk kongeskip, 25. november no:1905. Statsminister Christian Michelsen ønsker velkommen til landet. Heimdal førte så den nye kongefamilien og regjeringa videre inn til Kristiania der følget steig i land ved Akershus festning straks før klokka 13. Tross surt vær og sludd hadde en stor folkemengde møtt fram for å hylle den nye nasjonens folkevalgte regent. NB! Fotografiet er kraftig retusjert.
