Description: Japan’s Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal Makoto Saitō (内大臣・齋藤實, 1858–1936), visits his close friend, Finance Minister Korekiyo Takahashi (高橋是清, 1854–1936) at his official residence on 20 February 1936. Less than a week after this photograph was taken, both were assassinated by ultranationalistic Army officers in the February 26 Incident (二・二六事件).
