The series of original calotypes taken by Leavitt Hunt were donated to the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., by Maud Hunt (Mrs. William E. Patterson) in 1947. Inscribed: "....Leavitt Hunt went up the Nile in 1852 to take these first photographs ever taken of pyramids, tombs, etc., in Egypt..."
