Description: Lift Every Voice and Sing (also known as The Harp), a sculpture in plaster created by African-American artist Augusta Savage (1892 – 1962) for the 1939 New York World's Fair and located adjacent to the Fair's Contemporary Arts Building. The sculpture was destroyed at the Fair's end in 1940. The photo was distributed by the New York World's Fair Dept. of Feature Publicity in 1939.
