Description: The aizkolari (axe-man) called Luxia on a trunk-cutting bet. Year 1949, Deba, Gipuzkoa (Basque Country). The tree on the image was cut by a group in Nabarniz, Biscay, Basque Country and it's 2,1 meters tall. Joan Joxe Luxia Narbaiza accepted a bet of 50.000 pesetas if he was able to cut it. Finally, due to the extreme hotness he couldn't do it.
