Afghanistan, Algeria, Bhutan, North Korea, Libya, Mauritania, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan,Yemen and North Sentinel do not recognize Christmas as a public holiday. Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Comoros, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam do not recognize Christmas as a public holiday, but the holiday is given observance. Taiwan: December 25 is observed in Taiwan as the Constitution Day, but is not an official holiday observed by civil servants of the central government. Some sectors of the workforce may have time off. It is not designated for Christmas, but for the anniversary of the 1947 ROC Constitution. Pakistan: December 25 is a public holiday in Pakistan, but is not designated for Christmas, but for the birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
