Description: Meadowlark Airport sign reading: In memory of Dick Yukio Nerio Nov. 12, 1935-July 20,2000 Dick Nerio and the Nerio family owned this land prior to the development of the Summerlane Community and the Gibbs Park extension. From 1947 to 1989, the Nerio family operated the Meadowlark Airport on this site, along with a farming operation. As the land transitioned to its current use, the Nerio familty was instrumental in the development of this park. Dick was a beloved family man and very active in real estate and many community organizations such as, Rotary International, Orange County Japanese American Assoc., and South Coast Orchid Society. Dick was loved and respected by all. Tree and plaque donated by the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach and Catellus Residential Group January 21, 2001
