Description: Detail of some of the exterior decoration of Stanford Memorial Church; image depicts the Biblical concept of hope in one of the spandrels between a stained glass window. The mosaics were created by the Venetian studios of Salviati & Company and permanently installed in 1903, 1904 and 1917; hence, the works of art are in the public domain (PD-US).[1] Similarly, the carvings were created in 1906 after an earthquake has damaged the original structure.[2]
