The latter populations have been elevated to subspecies in the past, namely Motacilla capensis bradfieldi (A.Roberts, 1932), the type obtained at Swakopmund,[1] and Motacilla capensis beirensis (A.Roberts, 1932), type obtained at Zimbiti, Beira.[2]
