Description: Scene of a ship being ensnared and damaged by a "colossal octopus" (according to Denys-Montfort, experienced by French seamen off Angola's coast), but relabeled as a kraken here in the engraving in Robert Hamilton MD's book. Sepia in former usage included octopi, not just cuttlefish.
