Description: The Newton D. Baker House, also known as the Jacqueline Kennedy House, is located at 3017 N Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It was built in 1794 and later occupied by Representative George Peter, the Georgetown Female Seminary, Secretary Newton D. Baker, the British military attaché, Ambassador Alan Goodrich Kirk, Ambassador Stanley Woodward, First Lady Jackie Kennedy, author Michael Straight and his wife Nina Auchincloss Straight, and Miss America Yolande Fox. The house is a National Historic Landmark, is listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites, and is a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District.
