Description: Niobrara River Bridge near the mouth of the Niobrara in Knox County, Nebraska; seen from the northwest (downstream). The bridge was built in 1929 to carry the Chicago and North Western Railroad across the Niobrara immediately upstream from its confluence with the Missouri. It consists of three rigid-connected Warren through truss spans at the west end, then seven steel plate through girders, then 29 timber stringer approach spans over the floodplain to the east. It is now a part of Niobrara State Park, where it serves as a footbridge. The bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
