Description: The engraving, taken from Settle's "Empress of Morocco" (1678), represents the stage of the theatre of the Duke's Company in Lincoln's Inn Fields, created in Portugal Street, on the south side of Lincoln's Inn Fields, on the site of the old Tennis Court, to where William Davenant had migrated, having initially put on plays in Salisbury Court, on the site of the granary of Salisbury House.
