Description: This photograph was taken by me at the Kalleshvara temple (also spelt as Kalleshwara) in Aralaguppe, Tumkur district, Karnataka state, India. This inscription is from the period 870-906 A.D., during the rule of Western Ganga dynasty King Rachamalla II. Hero stones were created to honor a fallen warrior for his bravery.
