Description: Once called as Common Water snake, this Olive keelback is no longer common. It's become a rare sighting without an appropriate reason for disappearance. Now the name "Common Water snake" is synonym with Checkered keelback. Atretium schistosum. This snap, taken in Hyderabad, India, was of a specimen that was rescued by the Friends of Snakes club and was scheduled for release. Olive keelback generally feeds on frogs, crabs, fishes..and lives in water.
