Description: Engraved at 123 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa : "Ours the Task Eternal" ; "On December 1, 1941, the Board of Directors of the Ottawa YMCA met on this site to appoint Dr. Henry Marshall Tory as Chair of the College Grade Education Committee with Dr. Keenleyside, Mr. W.M. Connor and Dr. J.E. Robbins as members. The committee was to study the establishment of a non-sectarian post-secondary institution for part-time evening study in Ottawa. The institution which resulted was first known as Carleton College and was later renamed Carleton University." ; "Presented by Carleton University on December 1, 1991, in recognition of the contribution of the Ottawa YM-YWCA" ; "50 Carleton University 1942-1992"
