Description: A vertical ruler and an inclined straw in a plastic box full of water seen under shallow angle. Due to refraction, the straw appears kinked and the scale compressed. The angle of incidence and the angle of refraction can be estimated by the aspect ratio of the slice of cork and the coins, respectively.
