Description: USA, Tennessee, Morgan County, Frozen Head Natural Area and State Park. 5 August 2007. This is another moth that showed up at my porch light. It is Small-eyed Sphinx, Paonias myops It can be distinguished from other members of this genus by the doubly indented outer margin of the forewing (not straight or scalloped as in the two other species for this genus). Spreading the wings reveals eye spots on yellow hindwings.
