Description: A giant version of the typical finial upon a Iatmul men's house. The carving illustrates an episode from a long myth in which a giant eagle carries off an ancestress. The object, called Kura, was made by Simon Gamulo Marmos and Jo Mare Wakundi, two Iatmul men from Tambunum Village.
