Description: Parish Church section of Wall Paintings St Peter & St Paul the Parish church began life as a Saxon Church.The Normans rebuilt it in the 11th Century,the Tower is 13th Century.The main reason for the survival of the paintings was the fact that they were covered over and not destroyed in the Reformation, they remained covered over until the 1800's. Nikolaus Pevsner wrote "one of the most complete series of wall paintings in English churches"
