Description: Peter Jones department store Peter Jones is one of the largest and best known department stores in central London, England. It is a store of the John Lewis Partnership and located on Sloane Square, at the junction of King's Road and Sloane Street, in the fashionable Chelsea district. Peter Jones was founded as an independent store but was taken over in the 1920s to form part of the John Lewis Partnership. The present building, which occupies the whole of an island site on the west side of Sloane Square, was built between 1932 and 1936 to designs by William Crabtree of the firm of Slater, Crabtree and Moberly. The building featured the first glass curtain walling in Britain and is now a Grade II* listed building.
