Dieser Vielfalt gerecht zu werden und jedem Einzelnen eine Chance auf Selbstverwirklichung zu bieten, ist eine soziale, ökonomische und politische Herausforderung für alle Metropolen dieser Welt. Viele Städte stellen sich dieser Herausforderung und haben innovative Ansätze der Inklusion entwickelt – oft unabhängig von der nationalen Politik ihres Landes. Um diese Initiativen populär zu machen, lädt die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung mit der Maytree Foundation und der Botschaft von Kanada zu einem Dialog der Städte zwischen Berlin und Toronto ein. Unter dem Titel „Toronto Roadshow - Good Ideas from Canada“ sollen Berlin und Toronto miteinander ins Gespräch kommen, um sich über die städtische Politik des Multikulturalismus und der Inklusion sowie deren praktische Umsetzung auszutauschen und so von den Erfahrungen der jeweils anderen Metropole zu lernen. Dabei werden ausgewählte Vertreter/innen verschiedener Politik- und Gesellschaftsbereiche (Politik, Verwaltung, Arbeit & Wirtschaft, Bildung, Medien & Kultur, Polizei) von ihrer Arbeit vor Ort berichten und erfolgreiche Projekte vorstellen. Im Rahmen der „Toronto Roadshow“ besucht die Maytree Foundation mit ihrer Delegation insgesamt vier Städte in Deutschland: Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin und Köln. Foto: Stephan Röhl
