Description: The Plough Inn at 3402 Monroe Street in Madison, Wisconsin, was originally constructed in 1853 by German immigrant August Paunack as a stone house on the Wiota Road. In 1858 it was converted into an inn by Englishman John Ware, who extended it toward the road by a 25-foot brick addition in the Greek revival vernacular style.
