Description: Post card of Fingask Castle, sent from Errol to Oxford, franked 15 August 1910. Addressed to: Mrs Horatio Symonds, 35 Banbury Road, Oxford. Marion Robison Leckie (1863-1952), daughter of Patrick Comrie Leckie, London silk dealer, married Horatio Percy Symonds (1850-1923), physician, in 1892. The 1901 census has Horatio and Marion and their surviving son Ralph living at 35 Beaumont Street, Oxford. They had six servants: a cook, nurse, footman, kitchen maid, and two housemaids. By 1911 they had moved to 35 Banbury Road, and their son Ralph Frederick (d.1971) was boarding at Radley College. Horatio resigned as surgeon of the Radcliffe Infirmary in 1915.
