Description: Preserved unique Leyland/Weymann combination Routemaster prototype RM3 (reg. SLT 58), pictured traveling past Baker Street tube station in London in 1979. The 1958 in the destination display marks the year it first entered public service for testing, numbered RML3 and with a prototype front end. In 1974 it had become the first Routemaster to be preserved. In this scene 5 years later, it still wears the RM3 number it was allocated in 1961, and the standard front end it gained in 1965. In 2004 it was restored to its original prototype front end design, returning to it original number RML3.
