Description: The 70-gun Spanish ship of the line Princesa in battle with HMS Lenox, Kent and Oxford, 8 April 1740. The 64- cannon Princesa ship , commanded by Pablo Agustín de Aguirre, on April 19, 1740, held a stubborn combat for more than seven hours with the British Orford, Kent and Lenox, 70 cannons, at Cape Prior , to whom she had to surrender. The Princesa , built in Guarnizo in 1730, served in the Royal Navy under the name of Princessa until 1784 when it was sold. It was scrapped in 1809.
