Description: Radio-Electronics, June 1949, Volume 20, Number 9 Gernsback Publications, Inc. Publisher and Editor-in-Chief: Hugo Gernsback. Cover: The Radio Hat, posed by Hope Lange (see page 4). The two tube radio receiver cost $7.95 and was manufactured by the American Merri-Lei Corporation of Brooklyn, N.Y. It came in 8 colors; Lipstick Red, Tangerine, Flamingo, Canary Yellow, Chartreuse, Blush Pink, Rose Pink, and Tan. (Kind of a 1949 iPod.) The radio was powered by an external battery pack.
