Description: Portrait of Rahovy (Ratsimiovo), half-brother of Radama I (1805-1828). He with his brother Ratafika was educated in Mauritius from September 10, 1816 to July 10, 1817 when they returned to Madagascar. This portrait was painted while he was in Mauritius. He either died of malaria or was murdered, along with several other members of his family, in 1828.
