Description: The Rainbow lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus), is abundant and ubiquitous in 7th Brigade Park, Chermside. It feeds on nectar from the flowers of Eucalyptus species, Corymbia species, Erythrina crista-galli and Melaleuca species and seeks nest hollows in veteran Eucalyptus and Corymbia species. The Rainbow lorikeet is far from timid and will robustly rebuff bullying honeyeaters if need be.
