Description: A rangefinder reticle. The reticle should be used on the second focal plane to remain a constant size at various magnifications. The central hatch marks should each measure a set amount of minutes of angle or mils to allow distance to be easily calculated at different ranges and magnifications. The lower horizontal marks are used for rapid rangefinding: their width should show the length of a set object (typically a 1 yard/meter deer chest or 2 yard/meter deer profile) at various set ranges (typically 100/200/400/600/800 yards or meters) using some set magnification. They can be arranged equidistant from each other (as here) or arranged to show some set bullet's drop over certain set distances (in which case they would be increasingly further apart, showing the effect of gravity on the bullet after 100/200/400/600/800 yards/meters).
