Description: Richard Penderel (circa 1606-1672), Royalist and farmer. Charles II nicknamed him, Trusty Dick Penderell. A woodcutter and farmer he sheltered Charles after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651. Portrait by Richard Houston, after Gerard Soest. Mezzotint, published 1798.
