Buried here are his wife Albina Grace Thomas (d 14 Dec 1889), Montague George Thomas (d 20 Dec 1876), Mathilde Irma Thomas (d 18 May 1890), Florence Juliet Newland (d 22 Feb 1912), Bingham Henry Powell Newman (d 25 Aug 1912). The inscriptions reads:- Sacred to the beloved memory of our father George Powell Thomas Lt Colonel Indian Army son of Gen Lewis Thomas CB wounded in action he died in the Fort Agra August 4th 1857 …mortem fidelis By grace are we saved through faith E… H. 11. 8 And mother Albina Grace Thomas daughter of W.S. Andrews Esq M D of Richmond late of 19th … fell asleep December 14th 1889 "Jesus wept". St John X1.35. “So he was their saviour… in all their affliction he was afflicted and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them" Isaiah “He hath put a new song into my mouth even praise into our God” Ps XL.3. “God is love” The father sent the son to be the saviour of the world" 1 John iv. 8.14 Also in loving memory of their youngest daughter Florence Juliet Newland wife of the late Henry Newland she died February 22nd 1912, and was herein laid to rest “In sure and certain hope of everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Also in affectionate remembrance of their only son Bingham Henry Powell Newland who died at Qu’Appelle Canada August 25th 1912 aged 36 “Lord Jesus into thy hands we commend his spirit” In memoriam Mathilde Irma Thomas fondly loved wife of Colonel C F Thomas died at the Adyar Madras May 18th 1890 "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God" Also in loving memory of our brother Montague George Thomas who died at King William Town Cape of Good Hope December 20th 1876 “Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near saith the lord" Isaiah LV11.19
