Description: Atlas of Hillforts 1000 Ploughing in the medieval period on Burrough Hill, an Iron Age hillfort, has left traces of ridge and furrow on the site. Here excavations in 2011 have been cut through the ridge and furrow, making it more obvious. Note also the orangey colour of the soil which is due to traces of iron.
