Description: Plaque at centre of Coldstream Bridge, with inscription reading: ROBERT BURNS crossed this bridge, entering England for the first time, 7th May 11787, and kneeling, prayed for a blessing on his native land in the words:- "O Scotia! My dear, my native soil! For whom my warmest wish to heaven is sent! Long may thy hardy sons of rustic toil Be blest with health, and peace, and sweet content." Erected by Coldstream Burns Club. May 7th 1926.
