Panel was called "Ritmo and Blues: Hidden Histories Shaking Up 'American' Pop", and focused on the contributions of people of Latin American origin or ancestry to popular music in the United States. Maestas was making a comment/question from the floor. Standing behind (but not a very good image of her) him is Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times (for whom there is a much better image at Image:Ann Powers 01A.jpg).
