The building was renovated under the direction of Frederick Muller in 1907 to house the Robinson-Schwenn Department Store. The building features a red brick exterior, a front-gable roof, a bracketed cornice, roman arched bays on the third floor of the front and side facades, one-over-one and replacement casement windows, a large rose window at the center of the third floor of the front facade, a gable parapet at the peak of the front gable, oxeye windows on the end bays of the third floor of the front facade, brick and stone window hoods, large first floor bays with plate glass windows and transoms flanked by cast iron piers, and brick pilasters on the exterior facades. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, and is a contributing structure in the Hamilton Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
