Description: Saint Anthony's Chapel (Shrine of Saint Anthony of Padua) located at 1700 Harpster Street in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This chapel was built from 1880 to 1892, and is on the List of Pittsburgh Landmarks recognized by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation (PHLF). The chapel houses 4,000 to 5,000 religious relics, making it the largest collection of relics outside the Vatican. Notable among the chapel's collection are the complete skeletal remains of Saint Demetrius (housed underneath the altar), the skulls of Saint Macharius and a Saint Stephana, skulls of the martyred companions of Saint Ursula, the skull of Saint Theodore, and the tooth of the chapel's patron, Saint Anthony of Padua. The relics include 22 slivers of the True Cross, a piece from the table of the Last Supper, a piece of the burial shroud of Jesus, and a sliver of Mary's veil.
