The aircraft left Portmarnock on its continuing journey to Brisbane, on 4th June 1930. The sculpture itself comprises a 1.9m diameter limestone globe with a bronze North Point aimed at the Pole Star. It was designed by Remco Dfouw and Rachael Joynt.
