Description: "Puget Sound National Bank. / The block is called the Pioneer, and is the property of the Yesler Estate, Inc.," from brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). The Pioneer Block is still standing as of 2007, and is on the National Register of Historic Places (along with the nearby Iron Pergola and totem pole). In the picture, a small sign can be seen on the rightmost ground floor window saying "Puget Sound National Bank". A sign at the opposite and of the building says "FURS". A partially legible sign over the window of the second storefront from left appears to say "OPENS [?] FLATS"; there is a company name in the window, but all that can be clearly made out is that the initials are either "S.L." or "S.I." Inscribed over the arched entryway is "Pioneer Building".
