Description: The Commission granted a credit guarantee of ECU 500 million to the Soviet Union during a ceremony. Jacques Delors, President of the CEC, and Karel van Miert, Member of the CEC in charge of Transport, Credit and Investments, Protection and Promotion of Consumer Interests, signed the Convention for the Community, Ivan Silayev, Chairman of the Interstate Economic Committee of the Soviet Union, signed the Convention for the Soviet Union.
