Description: 1384 monumental brass of Sir John Harsyck and his wife Katherine, South Acre Church, Norfolk. On his tabard and on a shield above and on the sinister half of his wife's robe are shown the arms of Harsick: Or, a chief indented sable. The dexter side of of his wife's robe displays A maunch, possibly the arms of the Hastings family. (Note: apparently an error by the brass-maker (Boutell's drawing correctly shows actual positions) as the husband's arms are always shown on the dexter side, the wife's on the sinister). On his helm above is the crest of Harsick: A plume (?). Latin inscription on ledger line, starting at top: Hic jacet D(omi)n(u)s Joh(ann)es H... tercius qui obiit secundo die Septembris Anno Domini millensimo CCC LXXXIIII cuius animae propitietur deus amen. Et Domina Katerina uxor (eius) .... ("Here lies Sir John H(arsyck) the third, who died on the second day of September in the year of our Lord the one thousandth three hundredth and eighty fourth, upon whose soul may God look with favour. And to Lady Katherine, his wife .....")
