Description: Illustration by David MacGibbon and Thomas Ross of the south transept of St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh, looking towards the crossing. The plaster vaulted ceiling and clerestory were added during the restoration of 1829-1833; in the wall of the tower is a window, below the arch of the original barrel vault, which was interrupted as the transept was extended in the 15th century.
