Description: St. Mary's Church, Bodewryd. This Church replaced an earlier one that was struck by lightning, the building work was made possible with money donated by Henry Edward John Stanley, the third Baron Stanley of Alderley (1827-1903). He held the Muslim faith, and so unusually this Christian Church holds features of Islamic design. The stained glass windows being one of the prime examples of this style.
