Description: The St. Regis Washington, D.C., originally known as the Carlton Hotel, located at 923 16th Street, N.W., two blocks north of the White House. Built in 1926, the Beaux-Arts and Neo-Renaissance style luxury hotel was built by real estate developer Harry Wardman to the designs of architect Mihran Mesrobian. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a contributing property to the Sixteenth Street Historic District.
