Description: St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe Tower This last 'Wren' church has actually been rebuilt (finished 1961) following war damage. In the 17th century Edward III moved his state robes from the Tower of London to a large building close by, St Andrew's became known for its connection with the Great Wardrobe hence 'by-the-wardrobe'.
