Description: St Margaret's, Halstead Built in 1880-81, with the chancel being converted from the 1855 burial chapel on the site. The church contains memorials from the previous church, dating from the 14th century and situated in the grounds of nearby Halstead Place, the owner of which contributed much of the cost of the new church (in order to remove from his land the old one, with its associated public access and noise from bells?).
